The Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI), in collaboration with the National Road Fund (NRF), has launched a comprehensive Road Users Awareness Campaign in several counties across Liberia. The campaign has already reached Grand Cape Mount and Nimba Counties. Other counties to be touched are Bomi, Margibi, and Grand Bassa.
It comes in the wake of increasing unhealthy practices by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and transport operators along road corridors. These practices undermine the durability of roads and bridges. The practices affecting the sturdiness of roads across Liberia include roadside car wash operations, petty trading, and trash accumulation.
Earlier today, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) hosted a high-level meeting with the visiting World Bank Team, joined by the Senior Management Team of the Ministry and the Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA). The discussions centered around strengthening Liberia’s trade, industry, and investment climate, with a particular focus on the critical enablers of electricity and road connectivity.

The discussions, held at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, focused on several crucial issues, including promotion of effective trade through continued engagements between the two sides.
