.Duties and Responsibilities

 
 
The Deputy Minister for the Bureau of Small Business Administration is responsible to provide overall leadership for the Bureau and ensure its effective and efficient operations. Generally, the Deputy Minister is to design and implement programs and activities to facilitate growth and expansion of the MSME Sector. Specifically, the duties and responsibilities of the Office of the Deputy Minister for Small Business Administration are as follows:
 
I. The Bureau shall be responsible for the promotion, development, regulation, control, operation and loan facilitation of MSMEs, with particular focus and emphasis on Liberian-owned MSMEs;
 
 
II. The Bureau shall also be responsible for the functions formerly delegated to and performed by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Division of the Ministry as set forth in the MSME 2011 Policy;
 
 
III. The Bureau shall build the capacity of, monitor and evaluate the development and performance of Liberian-owned MSMEs, as well as prepare a written assessment of such development and performance pursuant to section 5.1 of the Small Business Empowerment Act;
 
 
IV. The Bureau shall coordinate programs for small business development and entrepreneurship with funding provided by the Government.
 
 
V. The Bureau shall work with government ministries, agencies and commissions, including state-owned enterprises to ensure the implementation of the 25% procurement “set aside” for Liberian-owned small businesses as provided for in the Small Business Empowerment Act
 
 
VI. Perform other such duties as may assigned from time to time by the Minister
