Tuesday: July 14, 2020: Press Release: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry says the issue of Destination Inspection (DI), is now being done by BIVAC.
Destination inspection encompasses the examination of goods and the processing of declarations covering such goods at the port of destination.
The decision comes in the wake of the cancellation of Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI), in line with regulations of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
The processing of the new Import Notification Form (INF) will continue to be handled by BIVAC, and an assigned Notification number will be sent to the exporter for shipment.
The Commerce Ministry calls on the public, mainly the business community to take due note and be guided by the new development, especially taking into account Liberia’s membership with the World Trade Organization.
