Local Farmers' Plight Draws MOCI & FAO's Attention

On September 25, 2026, The Ministry of Commerce & Industry and a delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization((FAO) held a technical meeting  at the Commerce Minister in Congo Town.

The focus of the meeting was about how the two institutions can work together to  address some of the challenges affecting local farmers. One of the highlighted points of intervention was  the need to empower local farmers for rice production to help reduce  the burden rice importation places on government.
