Commerce Ministry Launches USD$16m YEIB Program Tomorrow

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry, in collaboration with the African Development Bank will tomorrow, July 22, 2025, launch the Youth Entrepreneurship and Investment Bank (YEIB) Program for Advancing Youth Entrepreneurship and Investment (PAYEI) in the country.

The official launch of the USD$15m Youth Entrepreneurship and Investment Bank (YEIB) will be performed by Liberian Chief Executive, Joseph Nyumah Boakai, while additional speeches will be delivered by Commerce & Industry Minister, Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh, Liberia’s Finance & Development Planning Minister, Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan and the  President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina.

Financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB), and implemented by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI), through its Small Business Administration, the Youth Entrepreneurship and Investment Bank (YEIB) serves as a groundbreaking initiative of the Liberian Government.

The overarching goal of the program is to strengthen financial and non- financial business services to young women and men entrepreneurs in Liberia in order to ensure   financial inclusion by decreasing their vulnerabilities. This will also support long term sustainability of business support services provision.

As part of the African Development Bank's (AfDB) Program for Advancing Youth Entrepreneurship and Investment (PAYEI), the initiative is also aimed at advancing youth entrepreneurship and investment. 

As part of the tomorrow’s  ceremony, President Boakai will have an interactive engagement with guests and tour market booths of Micro,Small,and Medium-sized Enterprises(MSMEs), while the audience will be entertained with performances portraying Liberia’s rich and ever-appealing  culture and tradition.
