The Performance Management and Compliance System (PMCS) of the Cabinet Office at the Executive Mansion has conducted the 2026 Mid-Term Performance Review of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), as part of ongoing efforts to assess institutional performance, strengthen accountability, and enhance results-based service delivery across the Government of Liberia.

The mid-term review was conducted on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Monrovia. The exercise forms part of the Government's broader performance management framework aimed at ensuring that Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions (MACs) remain focused on delivering measurable results in line with their respective mandates and national development priorities.

The PMCS serves as an important mechanism for monitoring and assessing the implementation of government programs and institutional commitments. Through the system, the Cabinet Office evaluates the extent to which government institutions are meeting established performance targets, implementing planned activities within prescribed timelines, and delivering quality services and results to citizens.

The review also provides an opportunity to assess the progress of performance-related programs and initiatives outlined by ministries, agencies, and commissions, while identifying areas requiring additional attention, coordination, or improvement.
At the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the mid-term review focused on the institution's progress in implementing key programs and activities, institutional commitments, performance targets, and other priorities established for the 2026 reporting period.

The exercise further examined the Ministry's efforts toward effective coordination, implementation, documentation, and communication of its programs and activities. Proper communication of government interventions and achievements remains an important component of the performance management process, as it promotes transparency, public awareness, and accountability to citizens and stakeholders.

The PMCS assessment is also intended to identify implementation gaps and challenges that may affect the achievement of institutional objectives, while providing an opportunity for corrective measures to be considered before the end of the performance cycle. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry welcomed the review, recognizing the importance of performance monitoring and compliance in strengthening institutional effectiveness, productivity, and accountability within the public sector.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to working collaboratively with the Cabinet Office and other relevant government institutions to ensure that its programs and activities are implemented effectively and aligned with the Government of Liberia's broader development priorities.
The 2026 Mid-Term Review underscores the Government's continued emphasis on results-based governance, institutional accountability, efficient public service delivery, and measurable outcomes for the people of Liberia.
