Acting Commerce Minister Holds First Engagement With Employees

The Acting Minister of Commerce & Industry,  Stephen M. Yekeson,Jr., has held his first acquaintance meeting with employees of the Ministry. At the well-intended meeting, Mr. Yekeson  provided an overview of where he wants to take the Ministry. Key amongst issues outlined during the meeting are; ensuring that the Ministry of Commerce & Industry takes up its rightful role in driving  the Liberian economy, job creation, quality of goods and services on the local market,  promotion of standards, capacity building opportunities for employees, and provision of the needed  logistics to ensure effective delivery or performance.
 

Acting Minister Yekeson also   stressed  the importance of team work- adding  that he has confidence in members of the Senior Management Team(SMT). Speaking further, he described the employees as people of value and pledged to always give keen attention to issues affecting their well-being .Also speaking, the Deputy  Minister  for  Commerce and Trade Services, Wilmot A. Reeves, mentioned  the importance of motivation at the Ministry.

Deputy Minister Reeves made reference to logistical support to the various units of the Ministry, the need to look at the issue of upward adjustment in salaries for the employees, and that constructive efforts be made for the Ministry of Commerce & Industry to reclaim its lost role as the lead driver of the Liberian economy.
