
LiSA Intensifies Meetings With Stakeholders
The Liberia Standards Authority (LiSA) is continuing with engagements with stakeholders in raising awareness about its activities. Key among these private sector stakeholders are the Liberia Chambers of Commerce and Liberia Business Association.
These collaborative efforts by LiSA, under the watch of its Director General, Stephen Mambu, are aimed at explaining the entity’s role in national development especially, private sector growth, presenting service delivery chapter, highlighting the private sector’s involvement and contributions to standardization activities, etc.
During the August 1, 2025, at the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, the Director General of the Liberia Standards Authority, Stephen Mambu, spoke about the importance of a sound national quality infrastructure (NQI) in order for LiSA to realize strategic economic goals.
Throwing light on how far the entity has come, he pointed out that the Liberian Government, through the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, with the overwhelming support of private sector, development partners and ECOWAS drafted, validated and submitted the Liberia Standards Authority of 2018, which was passed into law in 2022 and became operationalized in 2024. During the meetings, representatives from the various sector institutions exchanged ideas about the need for continued engagements.
