National Trade Facilitation Steering Committee Holds Meeting

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI) is continuing with engagements with stakeholders to address trade facilitation-related issues. A clear demonstration of these concerted efforts was today’s meeting by members of the National Trade Facilitation Steering Committee (NTFC) at the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. Though the group has had prior meetings on the technical level- the November 27, 2025 gathering marked the first of its kind at the Steering Committee level.

The Deputy Minister for Commerce & Trade, Wilmot A. Reeves, in an opening statement hailed the participants for attending to the Ministry’s call to be part of the gathering. Deputizing for Commerce & Industry Minister, Magdalene E. Dagoseh, and Deputy Minister Reeves recounted the importance of effective trade facilitation on the global stage. He also provided a retrospective picture of how far Liberia has come regarding aligning its operating environment with global instruments geared toward effective trade promotion.  Among these is Liberia’s admittance into the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2016.
