
Commerce Ministry Begins Validation of Five-Year Strategic Plan as Minister Dagoseh Pledges Implementation
The Minister of Commerce & Industry, Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh, says the validation of the Ministry’s Five-Year Strategic Plan marks a significant milestone in ongoing collective efforts to shape a more inclusive, competitive, and resilient economy.Minister Dagoseh added that the strategic plan also represents a pivotal step in aligning the Ministry’s national economic direction with the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development. She described the Five-Year Strategic Plan as a product of thoughtful collaboration, interdepartmental coordination, and stakeholder consultation.
Speaking Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Commerce Ministry in Cong Town during the validation, Madam Dagoseh, pointed out that the idea reflects a commendable effort to ensure coherence across all departments and projects under the Ministry’s supervision. “This encompasses trade facilitation, industrial growth, MSME development, consumer protection, and the enforcement of quality standard,” Minister Dagoseh observed. Besides, she indicated that the plan embraces cross- cutting priorities such as digital transformation, capacity building, regional trade integration, and the strengthening of public - private partnerships. The cross-cutting priorities include the document’s alignment with the key pillars of the ARREST Agenda-including revamping the economy, empowering the private sector, and transforming governance, by outlining practical, realistic, and results driven intervention that seeks to deliver tangible improvements in people's lives.
“With your contributions today, this validation will serve not just as a procedural step but as a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to Liberia's economic transformation, she added Minister Dagoseh expressed the need for strong interdepartmental coordination, robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, and sustained stakeholder engagement - both from within government and the private sector in realization of the document. She lauded eminent Liberian statesman and politician, Dr. Togar Gayewea Mcintosh for his expertise in crafting the document. The exercise was attended by several institutions from the private and public sectors.
