
For Training Its Employees In Industrial Clustering: Commerce Ministry Appreciates Chinese Embassy
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has held an appreciation ceremony for the Chinese Ambassador accredited near Monrovia for recently boosting the skills of twelve of its employees in Industrial Clustering and Investment Promotion.
The two-week training was conducted in China about two months ago.
Speaking during the program held at the Ministry in Congo Town Wednesday, August 6, 2025, the Minister of Commerce & Industry, Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh, hailed the Chinese Government and people for always standing by Liberians in many constructive ways.
Minister Dagoseh made reference to the University of Liberian Fendell Campus, the EJS Ministerial Complex and the Samuel Kanyan Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville, among others, as notable footprints of the Chinse Government.
She said the Liberian people would always appreciate China for its numerous contributions, including the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
The Commerce & Industry however appealed to the Chinse Government, through its Embassy near Monrovia to provide additional capacity building opportunities for employees of the Ministry.
She commended the trainees for the knowledge acquired but equally urged them to use the acquired skills in the interest of the Ministry.
Also speaking, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China accredited near Monrovia, H.E. Yin Chengwu, said Liberia, with its many opportunities and potentials, is entering a new chapter of development under the implementation of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s ARREST Agenda.
Ambassador Yin expressed sincere gratitude for the strong commitment of Commerce & Industry Minister Dagoseh, to the economic and trade cooperation between China and Liberia.
“I further express profound appreciation to those whose enduring dedication has been instrumental in fostering the dynamic growth of China-Liberia economic engagement, “the Chinse Diplomat noted, Ambassador Yin also said the two countries’ joint exploration focuses not only on China’s achievements but, more importantly, on workable solutions to support Liberia’s growth.
Throwing light of earlier statements concerning how the Chinese so-dearly love their country, he added that the honesty of the Chinese people and their organized society provides lessons that can be adapted and utilized by the Liberian society. Ambassador Yin expressed confidence that through concerted efforts between the two countries, Liberia will progressively reframe its industrial architecture, drive industrial clustering, foster more balanced regional development, propel economic growth, and elevate the living standards of its people.
“China stands ready to share tailored experience in support of Liberia’s economic transformation, aligned with national priorities, “Ambassador Yin assured.
He thanked Minister Dagoseh and team for inviting him to the appreciation and certification ceremony of the MoCI employees who attended the recent capacity building training in China.
