Liberia Participates in AfCFTA Forum in Free Town

In line with its commitment to regional collaborative efforts geared toward realizing the benefits of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), the Ministry of Commerce & Industry recently joined its Sierra Leonean counterparts at an AfCFTA-related forum in Free Town.

The gathering, held from October 14-17, 2025, focused on implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) across the West Africa Sub-region. Another component of the meeting was the assessment of the readiness of member states, specifically, the political and economic challenges associated with AfCFTA implementation, etc.

Liberia was represented at the forum by the Deputy Minister for Commerce Trade Services, Wilmot A. Reeves.

In his presentation, Deputy Minister Reeves threw light on how efforts continue to be made by Liberia to implement the AfCFTA Agreement. He informed his colleagues that such efforts by Liberia have gained significant momentum, characterized by both political commitment and strategic planning, etc.
